The North Carolina Renaissance Faire 2008. I was there a bunch. It rained a bunch. But there are still lots of good memories:
The best memory? Beside all the wonderful conversations I had with the aforementioned folks, would have to be hearing Brad sing "Blowed and Torn." Great, great, great stuff.
- The never-ending hospitality of
ladyprivy at the gate and in the pub
- The [Nickel, shhh] Shakespeare Girls killing with an updated show, even in the rain and mud
- The never-ending hospitality of
terribleturnip in the hounds tent
- Moonie, with some new gear, making the best of the rainiest weekend
- Exentrik getting big crowds indoors and later outdoors
- Catching up with the guild friends I made when I was writing That Article, and meeting even more guild folks
- Listening to (not enough) Silent Lion and getting "John's Mostly Banjo CD"
- The amazing non-stop sunshine-y attitude of Ken, aka Bob DaVinci
- Dinners with various folks at Neomonde, Player's Retreat, The Pit, Flying Saucer, Tir Na Nog
- BeerPam (with tasty samples),
thatliardiego, and
piratekalia in town for final weekend
- Raccoon/kinkajou battle! Kinkajou wins!
- Barb and I squiring Carmen around and seeing how happy everyone was to see her
- A sekrit mission which ended with a sip of a not-half-shabby coffee liqueur, Patron XO Cafe
- Pickled Brother Travis swallowing his table knife at dinner, freaking out the waitron
pyratelady playing "The Galtee Hunt," my favorite dulcimer tune and evidently one of the trickier ones
The best memory? Beside all the wonderful conversations I had with the aforementioned folks, would have to be hearing Brad sing "Blowed and Torn." Great, great, great stuff.
